After deciding to pursue a career in horticulture, enabling her to integrate a lifelong passion for plants and gardens, Julie completed the nationally recognised courses in Garden design and Horticulture at Langside College, Woodburn House Campus and the Scottish Agricultural College with the Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh. Julie has recently received a BSc in Horticulture with Plantsmanship from the Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh and is a member of the Institute of Horticulture.
Julie has been involved in a range of community projects, including designing a ‘Sunshine’ Border at Uddingston Cross for
Uddingston Pride community Group and a Wildlife Garden for a children’s Nursery. Before embarking on her horticultural
career, Julie worked in the fashion industry, primarily as a Fashion buyer and then retail management, with around 20 years
experience in all aspects of the retail industry, including Garden Centre retail during her studies. She joined DWA in August
2005 and quickly established herself as a key member of the team..
